Long Island Doula Association is the premier birth and postpartum training association and doula support network on Long Island. I am proud to be birth doula trainer since 1997. I was privileged to be trained by one of the Foundresses of the doula movement, Penny Simkin.

Being a doula is beautiful and important work. There is no experience necessary, just having lots of energy and commitment but mostly loving birthing women and their families. My three day training includes “Introduction to Childbirth for Doulas” and two days for the birth doula training. This fulfills two major requirements for certification.

We meet in my home in Roslyn Heights, Long Island, 40 minutes by car or train from Manhattan or Brooklyn, from 9:30 - 6:00 on all three days. I provide transportation to and from the local train station.

“Thanks so much for a beautiful experience!  I really appreciate your enthusiasm, playfulness and experience with birth.  Loved the stories!  I feel prepared, but nervous having never attenfed a birth.  However, your encouragement is with me forever.”

“ I  prepared myself not to anticipate too much from the workshop, althoughCeleste Rachell with a happy couple she's helped. Long Island Birth Partners in speaking with Celeste prior to signing up, her bright professional upbeat disposition gave a sense of reassurance. I’m thrilled to say actually meeting Celeste in person and seeing her in action renewed my faith that this is my path and the right community to be a part of.  Her enthusiasm and encouragement accentuated by her dynamic interpersonal skills and  her zest for life conceives a welcoming, inviting and exciting environment.”
